Where are you?

"Where are you" was the title of the sermon on Sunday. Pastor Mark spoke about knowing where you are on your Christian walk. If someone calls you up and says how to I get to where you are", your first response will be "where are you", because you need to know where that person is starting from. It's the same way with us in our walk to Christ. We need to know where we are starting from to know how to get where we are going.

Explorer-
You will seek me and fine me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Exlporers are looking for something they just don't know what. They know something "bigger than them" is out there, and they have a desire to fine that something/one.

Things to help them:
Go to church
Join a small group
Read the bible

Jesus answered "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
Christ is asked into their hearts and they are baptised.

New Christian-
You are new in your walk with Christ

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. 2 Corintians 5:17

This step can be overwhelming so..........
Set small reasonable goals
Baby steps-one small step at a time (What about Bob? clip)

Growing Christians-
These people have been Christians for awhile but need to be constantly renewed in their walk with Christ.

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3:10-11

Like the tablets that you can buy as a kids that you put in water and they grow 6X's there original size, we as growing Chrisitans must constantly be growing. Once we are removed or turn away from Christ we can shrink back to our original starting point.

Surrendering Christian-
Then he said to teh crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hand on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. Luke 9:23-24

So where are you?
